The Floorboards are an American Roots Rock band from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. Almost two years after crossing paths, Dave and the band finally had the chance to collaborate on a project.
After listening to The Floorboards’ 2017 album Borrowed Moon, the song “Ain’t It All” became the inspiration for “One More Meal”, written and directed by Dave. It tells the story of a chance encounter between a woman on her way home to fix dinner, and a butcher who is closing up shop for the evening.
Dave pitched the idea of producing a narrative short film with music from the band as the score rather than a more traditional music video approach. After hearing the outline for what eventually became the script for the short film, Matt Browning and Jake Dempsey from the band loved the idea and gave Dave complete creative liberty with the production. “One More Meal” is the result.
